Prague Police are asking the public’s help in investigating a recent car theft in Vinohrady
A long-term expatriate resident of Prague parked his 2003 Toyota Rav4 on Na Zájezdu while going into his house on Feb. 10. When he returned at about 2:45 p.m., he discovered the car was missing. Vinohrady is one of the most expensive areas of Prague to live in, and due to this fact, has a higher than normal number of car thefts, according to Czech Police crime statistics.
The car was valued at over 100,000 Kč and personal items were inside the car, the report said. The car that was identified was entered as wanted in the missing vehicles database, and has unique identifying marks including a missing silver plastic profile cover that goes directly above rear wheel well on passenger side, exposing the black steel mounting plate with three red small fastener clips.
The car also has one Bridgestone tire on the front right passenger side, with the remaining three tires being Michelin brand. The vehicle is more recognisable from the rear, the vehicle has a trailer hitch, and a spare wheel mounted on the rear of the car with a Calvin & Hobbs decal sticker in the centre of it.
The stolen Metallic Silver Toyota Rav4 Four Door with tinted windows has a license plate number 3A2 8588.
Anyone having information about the crime is asked to dial 158 link 112 (English speaking). Or to contact Inspektor/Detective Jiří Hnilica directly at 974 860 700.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday, Feb. 11, Detective Jiří Hnilica said.
