Popularly known as the ‘island of the gods’, Bali is one of the provinces of Republic of Indonesia.
The province of Bali is home to many small islands but it derives its name from the most popular island named ‘Bali’, which is located between the highly populated ‘Java’ island and the quieter ‘Lombok’ island. Bali is also nicknamed the ‘last paradise’, ‘dawning of the world’, and the ‘center of the universe’. It is one of the most favored tourist destinations for people from all over the world, and even the International Travel Magazine has voted it is the world’s best island.
The vast number of exotic and breathtaking beaches in Bali is an important reason that tourism flourishes here, so let’s take a look at some of the beaches that are must see if you are in Bali. Balangan Beach The least populated among all the beaches in Bali, the Balangan Beach is the most peaceful and serene in the region. It has glowing white sand encompassed by rocky cliffs which make it a beautiful sight. Furthermore, because the water current is strong here, it is not advisable to swim, although it is an ideal surfer’s spot since there are huge waves of clear blue water. There are a number of professional surfers at the beach that will help you improve your surfing technique, so there’s no need to worry about falling off! Additionally, you will find a couple of outdoor restaurants (warungs) serving beer and local drinks here, but nothing too extravagant.
It is difficult to walk bare feet on this beach since it is very rocky, and some of it is covered with slippery algae. Geger Beach Contrary to Balangan, Geger Beach is traditionally for swimmers as the water here is quite calm with gentle waves. This beach is more famous for the topless sunbathing that is allowed here unlike other places. Since the sand is thick and soft, you can indulge yourself in sporting activities, and being a fairly popular beach, there are a variety of restaurants and hawkers that you can find here. If you are lucky enough, you can also get a glimpse of traditional farmers harvesting seaweed. Padang Padang This is one of the most popular beaches in Bali, not least because of the amount of Hollywood movies that have been filmed here! It is extremely gorgeous but very overcrowded with tourists, and the best part of Padang Padang is the entrance, where you have to walk down to the beach via stairs.
The water here is crystal clear and the sand is white as snow. Swimming is not advisable because of coral reef formations, which add to the beauty of this beach, although some tourists do indulge themselves in the water. It also has open-air restaurants on top of the cliff. Tanjung Benoa Beach If you’re looking for sorting activites, then you cannot give Tanjung beach a miss. The variety of activities on offer, like parasailing, scuba diving, wind surfing, jet skiing is amazing, and water sports take place all day and night. It is a perfect getaway for the entire family, with lots of engaging games for the children. The water is shallow and calm and lifeguards are stationed on full time duty.
Furthermore, it has wonderful terrace styled restaurants serving a wide variety of cuisines. Now you can enjoy the best beaches in Bali. Also don’t think you cannot afford to go. You just have to do some research on and with the internet at your finger tips you have no excuse. Take advantage of comparison sites to book insurance, hotels and flights. Many people just book with the first place they come across, if you care about saving some money that isn’t the way to go.
