Are you hungry for crepes? This place has what you want; cold, warm, salty or sweet.

bar bar pragueThe location, a cellar on one of those quaint side streets in Mala Strana, gives it a sort of romantic appeal, though the crowd is mild and the dress is super casual. The atmosphere is homely, realist still-lives line the white walls, making it comfortable and relaxing. Have a light lunch, salads or crepes, or go for one of their beefsteaks.

I had the Paris crepes which are filled with three types of cheese and topped with sour cream, cranberries and baked apples. They also have a big selection of exotic salads which are big enough to be meals themselves.

The drink list is anything but average boasting an enormous array of wines, whiskeys and liquors. I had the Istanbul crepes for dessert which are crowned with whipped cream, orange juice and almonds. The service defines the word prompt and overall the food is pretty good. A meal for two will run you around 250 crowns including dessert.

Escaping a little from the ultra-touristy nucleus of Mala Strana, Bar Bar is no less popular albeit with a less presumptuous looking crowd. With all that people, you tend to think the ventilation in the place needs a little work. Still, it's a great place to make a pit stop in your pub crawl for a meal with a difference - palacinky.

They've got pancakes of every kind - savory crepes (chicken, cheese, seafood...) for a great dinner, plus huge salads. A range of sweet palacinky will take care of your dessert after, unless you'd prefer to wash it all down with another big gulp of pivo.
