Step inside the chic groovy restaurant, UltraMarin, where SoHo collides nicely with a Prague dungeon and you won't be disappointed... With a kitchen that serves until 1:30 AM and an ultra hip lounge downstairs serving cocktails until 4:30AM, this is not your mother's restaurant.Chef Frantisek Ludacka prepares neuveau cuisine that's a creative hybrid between Czech and southwestern (US) cuisine. The staff is attentive without being obtrusive. And, you can get a glass of the house cabernet sauvignon forvery little. Small appetizers are available from 60Kc to 90Kc. Or, get a larger appetizer with selections such as curried salmon marinated in vodka and served with a horseradish cream sauce. Or, how about buffalo wings served with blue cheese dressing? From the grill you can choose from spare ribs, lamb chops, a T-bone, or grilled tuna steak. Not to mention a hamburger from 90Kc or a grilled chicken sandwich with lemon and rosemary. UltraMarin has a large selection of salads from 60Kc-160Kc. Great selections like stir fried beef, Santa Fe chicken or smoked salmon with pineapple. Try the crispy tuna salad, which containes blue fin tuna rolled with spinach in a paper-thin pastry sheet and quickly fried to make it crispy. This is served on top of a salad of iceberg and red leaf lettuce tossed in citrus peppercorn vinaigrette with green beans, bell pepper, tomato, cucumber and onion. Or, better yet, try the warm goat cheese salad. Finely chopped red leaf lettuce, onion and ginger with sliced goat cheese all dribbled with honey. Delicious. Reasonably priced omelets and crepes are also available all day, as well as a daily selection of deserts. After you eat be sure to go descend the blue-lit stairs to the cocktail lounge where you may sip on an Absolut Kurant while listening to funky, jazzy house and mingle with the beautiful people. See you there. Ostrovní 32, Praha 1. Czech Republic, Tel: +420 224 932 249 email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
